Some Nigerians in the United Kingdom (UK) have protested against the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the country for medical check-up.
The protesters stormed the Abuja House, 2 Campden Hill, Kensington, London on Friday, booing and demanding that Buhari immediately return to Nigeria.
They wondered why the president came for medical check-up in UK, while Nigerian doctors were complaining about government’s insensitivity to their plight and poor health facilities in Nigeria.
Ahead of an ultimatum issued to the Federal Government by the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) to commence an indefinite strike by Thursday, President Buhari departed Nigeria for the UK on Tuesday to undergo a medical check-up.
In a video tweeted on his Twitter handle, a Nigerian broadcaster and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, said that the protesters assembled with a mission “to chase the President back home.”
Buhari is currently in the city to see his age-old doctors, according to aides.
“The Police came but the #HarassBuhariOutOfLondon went on. A frightened @MBuhari refused to come,” he tweeted.
In a separate tweet earlier, Reno said: “The eagle has landed to harass the ego out of London. It is happening people. #HarassBuhariOutOfLondon is on. God willing, I will see you at Abuja House, 2 Campden Hill, Kensington, London W8 7AD by 12 noon. “We will observe #COVID-19 protocols even as we chase @MBuhari back home.”
