For five days, some Nigerians in the United Kingdom (UK) have continued to protest President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the country for medical check-up.
The protesters stormed the Abuja House, 2 Campden Hill, Kensington, London on Friday, April 2, to boo the Nigerian president and asked him to go home to Nigeria and seek treatment in the country’s health facility.
In a video tweeted on his Twitter handle, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on social media, Reno Omokri, said that the protesters assembled with a mission “to chase the President back home.”
Omokri wondered why the President and his family prefer abroad to Nigeria, a country they have been governing for more than five years.
“When Buhari’s daughter wanted to have a baby, she went to Spain. His wife shops in London. All his children schooled in England. Now, what are they doing with Nigeria? For six years he has been president, he hasn’t built a single. hospital.
“They want to spend $1.5 billion to renovate the Port Harcourt refinery that is a loss meaking refinery. Meanwhile Shell, they sold their profit-making 175,000 barrel per day refinery for in California for $1.2 billion dollars. Look, we are tired of this corruption,” Omokri said.
The protesters, who continued to chant anti-Buhari slogan, have refused to leave the Abuja house, the abode of the Nigerian president in the UK.
