The federal government has been accused of being behind the unexpected end of Kakaaki social, a programme which ran on AIT between 8am and 8:30am on weekdays.
On June 6, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) shut down the Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Ray Power radio station on over allegations of breach of broadcast ethics.
AIT and Ray Power resumed broadcasting the following day, June 7. But on Monday June 10 when Nigerians were expecting the usual Kakaaki social on air, the station apologized that the anchor, Godwin Ohimai Amaeze was unwell.
Two weeks after, he has still not resumed the the programme, only to be seen on his twitter profile pix putting his finger on his lips, a sign that he has been gagged.
There were also allegations that the government was planning to arrest him and charge him for public incitement. He has retweeted every tweet that suggested that the government had banned the programme.
