Nigerian doctor tests positive to Ebola virus

A Nigerian doctor who treated late Patrick Sawyer in Nigeria once the Liberian-American was diagnosed of the dreaded Ebola virus, has tested positive also.

 

Following the death of a doctor treating the virus in Sierra Leone and another flown to the United States for treatment, the doctor has tested positive to the virus.

This was revealed by Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu today during a press briefing on the Ebola saga in Nigeria.

 

Late Patrick Sawyer flew in to Lagos while on his way to Calabar for an official assignment but fell ill while on the flight and was transferred to a Lagos hospital on arrival in Lagos

 

Additionally, Chukwu also said that eight persons who had first degree contact with the Liberian man before he got to the hospital had been quarantined and remain under strict observation.
