Nigerian airports eye top spot in Africa

-

Airports in Nigeria are being upgraded to reverse their poor rating through effective service delivery to enable them compete on the African continent.

A study conducted by “The Guide to Sleeping in Airport” in 2014 ranked Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos 10th worst in Africa, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja (seventh), and Port Harcourt International Airport (sixth).

“The low rating of Nigerian airports last year was basically born out of inadequate customer service delivery and not infrastructure. We have the fastest development plan for airports growth among African countries,” she said.

Okoye spoke at a Customer Appreciation Day/Cancer Awareness Initiative to commemorate World Cancer Day, where she enthused that Nigerian airports will rank among the best in 2015 with the current level of service delivery.

She said Aviation Minister, Osita Chidoka, launched Aviation Commits to provide better service delivery, and the FAAN will tie in to ensure that Nigerian airports emerge among the best in the next rating in April.
