The Executive Director of, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Faisal Shuaib, has disclosed plans to make the COVID-19 vaccine compulsory.
He says any Nigerian who refuses to take the vaccine will be sanctioned for endangering the lives of others.
“If some individuals refuse to take the vaccine, hence endangering those who have or those who could not due to medical exemptions, then we have to apply the basic rule of law which stipulates that your human right stops where mine begins,” he says.
Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, and his Ondo counterpart, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, have said that showing proof of being vaccinated would be made a requirement for accessing public places and government facilities.
Shuaib has also warned of the consequences of refusing to take the vaccine.
He said: “We would need to have a frank discussion about justice, fairness and liberty that exist around vaccine hesitancy.”
