Niger Police nab IBBU robbery suspects

Niger State Police have arrested eight suspects in connection with the terror unleashed on the students of the state-owned Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai.

  The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muhammad Abubakar, while parading the suspects in Minna, said that investigations into the issue were ongoing.

  It would be recalled that in one of the recent attacks, one of the victims, Abdulhadi Danyay, a 100 Level student of Computer Science, sustained deep cut on his head.

  Yakubu Isah Kopa aged 26 years, according to the Police command, was identified as the prime suspect that attacked Abdullahi currently on admission at the IBB Specialist Hospital, Minna as doctors battle to save his life.

  DSP Abubakar revealed that the eight suspects connected to many robbery attacks in Lapai and particularly the IBBU were arrested by officers of the Lapai Division of the command.

  He said that the suspects include Ahmed Kamaldeen, 23 years, Mohammed Ahmed Hassan, 21 years, Victor John Dizawo, 21 years, Abdulrahman Solomon Baje, 24 years, Hassan Suleiman 22 years, Yakubu Isah Kopa 26 years, David Solomon, 29 years, as well as Umar Abdulkareem Sani, 21 years.
