The Acting Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), Mike Umeh, on Thursday in Abuja said the association still wanted Stephen Keshi to continue as Super Eagles’ head coach.
Umeh told newsmen, after his first task of presiding over the board’s meeting as an acting chairman, that the final decision would however depend on a three-man committee’s report.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Umeh, who is NFA’s First Vice- Chairman, became the acting chairman shortly after the now immediate-past chairman, Aminu Maigari, was impeached.
Maigari was impeached on Thursday morning by NFA’s board members on the grounds of financial misappropriation, misapplication and maladministration.
“There is no doubt about the fact that we want Keshi back as the Super Eagles’ handler, but we have to discuss with him first.
“So, we have already set up a three-man committee to look into that matter and we have given it a mandate of one week to report back.
“The committee has Chris Green, Deji Tinubu and Felix Anyasi-Agwu,’’ Umeh said.
The acting NFA chairman however said his new responsibility was a normal one, though he had to correct the mistakes of the impeached chairman.
“It is a normal responsibility because I have been in the game for some years as the Vice-Chairman. So, there is nothing new.
“I will head very well, because we want to correct the mistakes that made us impeach the past chairman, and because we need to add value to what he and the board has done,’’ Umeh said.
He however said there was no division in the NFA as the association would work as one big family.(NAN)
