“Real Madrid will be a hard nut to crack, with the signing of Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez joining train with the likes of Cristano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Luka Modric as well as Xabi Alonso.

“French defender, Jeremy Mathieu, from Valencia and Luiz Suarez from Liverpool are expected to cover and add bite to the attack of FC Barcelona which boast already of Lionel Messi and Neymar, while Athletico Madrid has also signed Antoine Griezmann from Real Sociedad and Mario Mandzukic from Bayern Munchen.

“Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers are all expected to justify their signings with Arsenal FC and make the new season tick, why Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis with returnee, Didier Drogba, could change things for good for Chelsea.

“Manchester City has signed Frank Lampard, Bacary Sagna, Willy Caballero and Fernando. Eliaquim Mangala looks likely to follow them.”

Adefuye noted that Liverpool added Rickie Lambert, Emre Can, Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic to their ranks over the course of pre-season as well as Belgium striker, Divock Origi, from Lille for £10 million.

He added that Romelu Lukaku has joined Everton after the striker completed club record £28 million switch from Chelsea.

He, however, refused to stick his neck out on how the season will end in all the leagues, but was quick to add that the best teams would emerge winners.

“At the end of the season, the winners from all the leagues must have proved that they deserve to win the trophies; that I am sure of,” he concluded.
