Fans of ace singer, songwriter and dance, Abolore Akande better known as 9ice have taken exception to a comparison made by a fan of fast-rising music star, Ahmed Ololade Asake a.k.a Asake on social media.
In over 24 hours of debate on Twitter, music lovers and analysts took to the microblogging platform to refute the assertion that Asake is the better musician.
It all started when a Twitter user said Asake is a better singer than his more experienced colleague, 9ice.
The tweet read: “I feel Asake is a more talented and socially accepted act than 9ice.”

Reacting to the claim, fans of the ‘Congo Aso’ crooner, refuted the assertion, saying it is not only untrue but disrespectful to the singer.
These fans further drove home their point by listing his achievements and dared the other camp to come up with theirs.
A netizen, who is a fan of 9ice tweeted, “Gongo Aso is bigger than Asake’s past, present, and future music career.”
Another Twitter user wrote, “Is it the same 9ice that Buju called a source of inspiration? Like the same 9ice that made many non-Yoruba folks wanna sing Yoruba songs? Asake is good. It is his time. I love his album. The comparison is not needed.”
9ice hit the limelight after releasing the hit song ‘Gongo Aso’ in 2008, a track which earned him the Best Hip Hop Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards.
He then won a MOBO award before sweeping four other awards at the 2009 edition of the Headies.
