Nigerian Development Front (NDF) has urged All Progressives Congress (APC) delegates to vote for Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential primaries on 29 May, saying he has the vision and the drive to lift the country out of its quagmire.

NDF President Charles Adeyemi said the Vice President has shown competence in his assignments as the number two man and deserves to be given the top job in the Valla.

He argued that Osinbajo becoming President would be of great benefit to the APC and Nigeria at large, based on his vast experience at the highest level of power in Aso Rock compared with other aspirants.

“Osinbajo understands the country’s challenges more than any aspirant and will hit the ground running from day one,” Adeyemi counselled in Osogbo.

“Delegates should consider the state of the nation over their pecuniary gains and vote for Osinbajo being the best in knowledge, firsthand experience, both national and international diplomacy.

“If Osinbajo emerges as the party’s flagbearer in the 2023 presidential election, he will ensure improved security, economic diversification, infrastructure development, among others,” Adeyemi told the News Agency of Nigeria, per reporting by The PUNCH.

He sai the NDF is making contacts with stakeholders in the South West and other zones to ensure Osinbajo emerges as the APC candidate in the 2023 vote.

APC presidential aspirants face screening

APC presidential aspirants will be screened today at the Conference Hall of Transcorp, Abuja by a panel of seven members drawn one each from the six zones plus National Working Committee (NWC) Chairman Abdullahi Adamu.

The NWC set up the Presidential Screening Committee (PSC) to examine the documents, background, and suitability of the 24 out of the 28 aspirants who submitted their nomination forms by the deadline of 13 May.
