Ndidi speaks after winning start with Besiktas, hails fans

Ndidi is expected to be in action when Besiktas take on Lausanne in Europa Conference League playoff tie on Thursday.

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has praised supporters of Turkish Super Lig giants, Besiktas, after making his debut for the outfit.

The 28-year-old joined the Istanbul club from Sky Bet Championship side Leicester City two weeks ago.

On Sunday night, he made a winning start with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men as they defeated Eyupspor 2-1.

Ndidi was in action for 70 minutes before he was replaced by Demir Tiknaz after picking up a knock.

Speaking to Reporters after the encounter, the Nigeria international praised Besiktas supporters for their amazing support.

He added that their encouragement  untimately helped the team to get across the line in the narrow victory.

He said, “The atmosphere was great. The support from our fans was fantastic. When the score was 1-1, we showed real team spirit and their backing pushed us to fight for the second goal. It was a great day, we feel fantastic.”

Ndidi is expected to be in action when Besiktas take on Lausanne in the UEFA Europa Conference League playoff tie on Thursday.
