National Stadium wears new look for Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball national finals

The Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos is wearing new look ahead of this year’s Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball championship national finals.

 

The national finals is billed to hold at the venue from Monday, June 1 to Saturday, June 6 while all qualifiers for the national finals are expected to arrive Lagos this weekend in preparations for the hostilities.

Stadium Manager, Agbolade Abolore in a chat with our correspondent said all things being possible, the national finals tends to be a successful one from their ends.

 

He said: “We are ready for the national finals. We know we will be seeing a lot of people from different parts of the country and we’ve put our machinery in place for a successful hosting in terms of security and otherwise”.

 

Paintings of the Hall has started from Thursday while the outside of the Hall is also being given a new look in terms of trimming of the grasses surrounding the Hall.

Every team participating in the national finals will receive N200, 000. Winners will go home with additional N150, 000 for first place, while the second and third placed teams will receive N120, 000 and N100, 000 respectively. They will also receive trophies, Milo goodies and lots of Milo to drink.

 

From the Central Conference are Government Secondary School, Barnawa, Kaduna State who will be competing in the Boys category while Government Secondary School, Bida, Niger State will be competing in the Girls category.

 

Augustine Seminary, Ezzamgbo, Ebonyi State will represent the Atlantic Conference in the Boys category while Idia College, Benin, Edo State will compete in the Girls category.

 

Confluence Conference will have Saint Peters College, Idah, Kogi State in the Boys category while Government Girl Secondary School, Yola, Adamawa State will compete in the Girls category.

 

Ilupeju Grammar School, Ilupeju, Lagos State and Yejide Girls Grammar School, Ibadan, Oyo State would both represent the Western Conference.

 

All the qualifiers would be joined by the four best losers to be decided by the organisers, the Nigeria Schools Sports Federation (NSSF).
