Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has expressed confidence in the ability of the acting Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, to tackle the security challenges facing the nation.
Almakura stated this during a courtesy visit to Idris in his Abuja office.
The Nasarawa governor said he came to rejoice with Idris over his elevation to the position of the Inspector-General of Police.
He recalled the period Idris served in Nasarawa State as the Commissioner of Police, recounting how peace and orderliness pervaded the state as a result of his policing techniques.
Responding, Idris thanked the governor for the visit, saying he was highly elated to see Governor Almakura as the first governor to pay him courtesy visit on his assumption of office as acting Inspector-General of Police.
He assured him of his determination to secure the nation for social development and economic growth.
