NAPPS chairman hails Apostolic Faith Schools over hosting of Inter-House Sports

The Chairman of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Akure South, Hon. Olusanya Oluwatoyin Emmanuel, has underscored the importance of inter-house sports competitions in shaping the character and future of students.

Olusanya stated that beyond the excitement of races, medals, and cheers, sporting activities instill discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and unity, core values essential for success in life.

He made the remarks while speaking as a special guest at the joined 2nd Inter-House Sports Competition of Apostolic Faith Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools, Akure.

Describing the invitation as a privilege, the NAPPS chairman commended the proprietor, principal, and management of the school for their commitment to raising well-rounded students through both academic and extracurricular activities.

According to him, inter-house sports competitions serve as a vital platform for nurturing students holistically, stressing that education should not be limited to classroom learning alone but must also encompass physical and moral development.

Addressing the students, Olusanya urged them to compete with determination, discipline, and integrity, noting that true victory lies not only in winning but also in participation, fairness, and mutual respect.

“I encourage you to give your best and let your conduct reflect the champions you are becoming,” he said.

He further praised the dedication of the school’s management and staff in grooming students who are not only academically sound but also morally upright, urging them to sustain the standard.

Olusanya also acknowledged the support of parents and well-wishers, noting that their presence and encouragement play a crucial role in motivating students to excel.

Reaffirming NAPPS Akure South’s commitment to quality education, he assured that the association would continue to support initiatives that promote the all-round development of learners.

He expressed optimism that the sporting event would be successful, hitch-free, and memorable for all participants.

The Proprietor of the Schools, Rev. Joseph Adeboye Aro, has reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to nurturing students who excel not only academically but also in character and physical development.

Speaking through his representative, Rev. Henry Akinbobola, the proprietor noted that inter-house sports competitions remain an integral part of the school’s vision of raising well-rounded individuals equipped for future challenges.

Rev. Aro emphasized that the school places high value on discipline, teamwork, and unity, describing sports as a veritable tool for instilling these virtues in students.

He urged participants to compete with a spirit of sportsmanship, fairness, and mutual respect, adding that the lessons learned on the field are as important as those acquired in the classroom.

He further appreciated the efforts of the school management, staff, and parents for their continuous support and dedication to the growth of the students.

He expressed confidence that the competition would not only strengthen bonds among students but also create lasting memories, while reaffirming the proprietor’s resolve to sustain programmes that promote holistic education.

In his address, the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Schools, Dr. Paul Olopha, commended the Principal, Mr. Idowu Olagookun, the Headmistress, Mrs. Olubodun, and other members of staff for their unwavering dedication, commitment, and professionalism in ensuring the smooth running of the institution and the successful organisation of the inter-house sports competition.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of discipline, coordination, and sportsmanship displayed by the students, noting that the event reflected the school’s strong foundation in both academic and moral excellence.

Dr. Olopha further urged the staff to sustain the high standards while encouraging students to continue striving for excellence in all areas of their development.
