The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) have agreed to collaborate for
continuous sensitization and education on procedures and requirements for NAFDAC product registration.
The Director General of NACCIMA, Amb. Ayoola Olukanni, disclosed this during a meeting with NAFDAC officials on Thursday February 4, 2021.
On the new arrangement, the NAFDAC Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeleye, however, assured that the agency would closely collaborate with NACCIMA and the private sector for the achievement of the mandate of NAFDAC in all areas.
On past collaborations with NACCIMA, the NAFDAC boss called for increased momentum.
At the end of the virtual meeting, both agencies agreed to work together to achieve desired objectives.
The resolution includes a quarterly NACCIMA-NAFDAC consultative meeting at the highest level; regular meetings between Regional offices of NAFDAC across the country and NACCIMA members across the country to review issues and resolve necessary matters; improvement in existing relationships between NAFDAC departments and NACCIMA trade-sectoral groups.
At the end of the meeting, a Technical Working Committee (TWC) made up of NACCIMA and NAFDAC representatives was set up and tasked with the responsibility of planning and organizing quarterly editions of the “NACCIMA-NAFDAC Quarterly Meeting”, as well as other collaborative initiatives.
