Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of the Federal High Court, Lagos has fixed February 5, 2016 for adoption of written address, in the ongoing trial of former Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Mr. Raymond Omatseye.

Omatseye is standing trial before the court on charge bordering on contract splitting and bid rigging to the tune of about N1.5 billion.
Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia fixed the date shortly after Omatseye closed his defense on the charge levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
In his defense, the ex-NIMASA boss testified for himself and further called a witness from the Ministry of Justice who also testified for him.
The second defence witness, Mohammed Abdulahi, is a registrar in the office of the Attorney General of Federation (AGF).
He gave account of his role in the office of the AGF and also the role he played on a document he received from the office of Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) on the matter.

The former NIMASA boss was slammed with an amended 27-count charge of contract scam by EFCC.
