My wife was due this week, Harira Jubril, husband of pregnant woman murdered in Anambra, laments

Harira Jubril, who said he does not want to bury his loved ones in Anambra, said his priority now is to raise money to take their remains back to Adamawa State for burial.

Harira Jubril, husband of the pregnant Hausa woman, Fatima, who was murdered in Anambra State together with her four children by terrorists, has said it is the worst experience anyone can go through in life.

Fatima and her children were murdered in cold blood by unknown gunmen on Sunday.

Speaking to the BBC News Pidgin on Tuesday, Harira Jubril disclosed that his wife was expecting to be delivered of her baby this week before the evil ones struck and terminated her life.

Speaking in pidgin, he lamented: “I don lose everything for dis world, my wife and four children all gone just like dat, dis na di worst thing wey any pesin go experience.

“She suppose born dis week because her pregnancy don reach 9 months before dis evil pipo snatch dem away.”

Harira Jubril said the four children aged between two and nine years who were murdered with their mother were all attending school.

“Fatima wey be di eldest na 9 years old followed by her sister Aisha wey be 7, then Hadiza 5 years and Zaituna 2 years old.”

Narrating how his family was wiped out, the distraught man said the wife went to another part of the state to visit the sister as she was wont to do every week and was killed on her way back.

He said he went to work on that day and when he returned, his brother told him what happened.

Harira Jubril said he could not go to the place where they were killed but rather went to the hospital to see their corpses.

“She visit my sister wey dey stay for anoda part of Anambra, na something wey she dey do every week and na as dem dey return di killing happun.”

“I go work dat day and na as I return my brother wey already know tell me wetin happun, I no gree visit di place wey e happun, na hospital I go see dem.”

Harira Jubril, who hails from Adamawa State, said more than 48 hours after the gruesome murder, no government official has visited to commiserate with him.

He also said the police were yet to make contacts.

“Nobody don come meet me, nothing like goment or police na only my oga for work dey help me at di moment.”

The bereaved, who said he does not want to bury his loved ones in Anambra, said his priority now is to raise money to take their remains back to Adamawa State for burial.

“I dey look for money to transport all dia remains to Adamawa State, na dia i wan bury dem,” Harira Jubril told BBC News Pidgin.

He disclosed that some good Samaritans are already making some donations to enable him convey their corpses back home.
