The Big Brother Nigeria season 6 “Shine Ya Eye” edition, brought on board a few housemates who were either married or once married. While Tega, for instance, is still married, others such as Boma, Beatrice and Pere were married at a point but the marriage has since ended.
While Boma and Beatrice, came forward with their status immediately after they entered the house and have been evicted, Pere seems to have kept his secret until recently and he is still competing for the grand prize. According to Boma, his marriage lasted for 6 years and they didn’t have a baby together. Beatrice, however, said her marriage was a little turbulent and so, had to leave, it was however blessed with a child before it crashed.
In a discussion with Jackie B and Yousef yesterday, Pere made it known that he was married and the marriage ended because of perception and lack of trust. He, however, did not give details of what led to the crashed nor disclose the identity of his ex-wife but described the union as a happy one before it ended.
”I was divorced in 2011-2012, married for one year and some months and we dated for six months.
”See marriage life is sweet o. Especially the environment where I met her was sweeter. We did everything together, always. She always wanted to go out.
”Honestly, marriage is sweet. Perception fucked it up and also she probably didn’t trust me,” he said.
Fans of the show will remember he once told some housemates that he travelled to Nigeria, from the United States, with his female friend for a movie role, but his wife, who didn’t trust him, filed for divorce before he got his green card and that was why he joined the US Army.
A lot of the housemates have described Pere as very egoistic and proud. As far as they are concerned, he looks down on the rest of the house and constantly looking for trouble. He has been nominated for eviction severally but has survived all the times his name came up. He however, has an ally in Saga, who, unlike others, see him as a brother and a friend.
Only time will tell how far Pere will go in the competition, but after surviving several eviction scare and winning Head of House and veto power, he seems to be destined for the last top 5.
While the majority of the housemates cannot wait to get him out of the house, the majority of the female housemates, describe him as cute and charming.
