The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, has boldly flagged off the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign within his household, with his 28 children and four wives.
The lawmaker represents Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency of Kano State.
Doguwa, on different occasions, has affirmed that his entire household will vote for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
In a video now in circulation, Doguwa who was speaking on the floor of the House, said though APC, has postponed its flag off of the presidential campaign, he has commenced the campaign in his household.
He said: “Today is the 28th day of September, which is the flag off of presidential and National Assembly campaigns.

“Even though my party had cause to reschedule their programme and activities, I have done my flag off with my 28 children and four wives, who will vote for Tinubu and every other candidate of the APC.
“I came in very unusually late into the chamber. I had to flag off my campaign and the campaign of my presidential candidate, Tinubu. I was actually doing something worthwhile.”
Most of Doguwa’s 28 children are under-age, including the baby that was born only this year.
On January 25, 2022, Doguwa announced that one of his wives had given birth to a baby.
The 56-year-old lawmaker once introduced his four wives to the House during plenary in January 2020, saying they bore him 27 children.
During the day’s plenary, Doguwa said the 28th child was born in the last 24 hours.
He had boasted then that plans were in top gear to make them 30 before the 2023 election.
He said: “This is no longer news. It is no longer news because this thing happened in the last 24 hours. It is true that my beloved family has gotten an additional one person. It is a baby girl. Bouncing.
“The mother and the baby are hale and hearty. The husband is still active. I am here. And I thank God that I kept my word with the House that while I had 27, I promised you that I would continue counting. I want by the grace of God and your prayers that the count would continue.” Ado Doguwa said.
The Kano lawmaker jokingly made a case for households with 30 members to have a polling unit.
“Now that we are considering the Electoral Act amendment, I would also add when we get to the floor perhaps in the Committee of the Whole, I would appeal to my members so that we suspend relevant rules and we have a clause in the Electoral Act where it permits families that do have up to 30 kids in their homes to have an electoral polling unit in that family,” he said.
