Oga Sabinus, popular Nigerian comedian said he started comedy in 2015 in Port Harcourt and relocated to Lagos in 2019 in search of greener pasture

Popular online comedian Emmanuel Ejekwu, popularly known as Oga Sabinus, has revealed that his father wanted him to study Law in university against his wishes.
Ejekwu made the revelation in an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on the Channels TV Rubbin’ Minds show.
“My father wanted me to be a Lawyer, not even that Linguistics and Communication that I studied. He told me nothing but law. So from school shows, we found our way here,” said Ejekwu.

Ejekwu said that he eventually studied Linguistics and Communication at the University of Port-Harcourt.
In the interview, the skit maker reflects on his meteoric rise to fame, citing his move to Lagos from Port-Harcourt in 2019 as a watershed moment in his career.
“I started comedy in 2015, in Port Harcourt, but I relocated down to Lagos in 2019. My coming to Lagos was because I see it as the main base for entertainment. It gave me new knowledge, ideas.
“I was doing stand-up and online comedy, I started more of stand-up comedy, it was in the process that I adopted online comedy into it.”
