Some Muslim youths have taken to the streets of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State to register their grievances after ace singer and record label owner, David Adeleke aka Davido posted a controversial video clip on his Twitter page.

TheNiche had earlier reported that the Afrobeats singer recently shared a short video of his signee, Logos Olori’s new single ‘Jaye Lo’

The clip which captured the moment some people were praying and dancing in front of a mosque later attracted wide criticism from many Nigerians, majority of whom are Muslims.

Many of these netizens, which include former aide to ex-president Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, Senator Shehu Sani and Nollywood actor, Ali Nuhi called on Davido to take down the “offensive” video and tender an apology for “disrespecting” Muslims.

The singer eventually bowed to pressure 48 hours later by deleting the controversial video. He, however, failed to apologise for his action.

Angered by this, some Muslim youths in Maiduguri, who felt the award-winning singer was arrogant, took to the street to protest.
