Musk retains title as world’s top 10 richest all Americans bar one French

Elon Musk, Tesla CEO and Space X founder, begins 2025 as the world’s richest person, solidifying his status as the first man worth more than $400 billion, and the top 10 billionaires emerge all Americans, bar one lone French man.
The latest release from Forbes shows Musk leads a list of global tycoons whose combined net worths total $1.9 trillion as of 1 January 2025.
The combined net worth of the top 10 richest individuals now stands at $1.9 trillion, up from $1.8 trillion on 1 December 2024, just a month ago.
These billionaires, primarily from the tech, retail, and luxury goods sectors, continue to shape global markets and influence industries on a monumental scale.
Notably, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has joined the ranks for the first time, reflecting the meteoric rise of the semiconductor industry.
