Super Eagle’s Coach, Gernot Rohr, has attributed his side’s victory over the Les Fauves of Central African Republic (CAR) in Cameroon to his captain’s leadership qualities and tactical change.

The Nigerian team avenged their shocking loss in the hands of their less fancied opponent at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, with a resounding 2-0 defeat in Douala. Cameroon on Sunday.

The Super Eagle’s gaffer, while talking to NFF TV after the win, said his captain’s experience and the change of tactical formation he made to the team helped in defeating their very sturbborn opponent.

He also said despite the home side’s robust approach, his side came out of the encounter without any serious injury and with the three points at stake.

”It was good reaction from my team. We lost the other day very unlucky, the last minute so everybody wanted to take revenge. They did it very well we could have scored a third or fourth goal.

“We change the system, we played with three at the back and I think it helped us and also the leadership of Musa to win this game.

“It was not easy to beat Central African Republic, we saw it. They made a lot of fouls but fortunately we don’t have any big injury now we can prepare for the next games in November with calmness and I hope everything will be fine at the end of the day.” Rohr said.
