Mr Macaroni says not seeking donations, simply wants folks to learn from his mistakes

Skit maker and rights activist Mr Macaroni (real name Adebowale Adedayo) has clarified that he is not seeking donations from members of the public to pay off his N500 million debt, despite admitting struggling to keep his head above water after falling prey to a scam and veering into a failed investment.

“I’m not accepting any help or donations. I shared the story majorly because I wanted people to learn from my mistakes”, he said.

Mr Macaroni recently disclosed his financial struggles, prompting an outpouring of support from colleagues, fans, and Nollywood types.

He admitted in social media posts to being burdened by debts of more than N500 million after falling victim to a scam and a failed investment between 2021 and 2022, coupled with financial recklessness and excessive generosity.

He also disclosed how the weight of his debts left him overwhelmed, made worse by betrayal from a close friend, but got lifted up by to overcome the hurdles through his faith and the support of loved ones.

Fellow activists and celebrities have taken to social media to pour sympathy on Mr Macaroni, even though they respect his non-acceptance of financial assistance, per collation by The PUNCH:
