Jollof was reacting to recent footage in which several women were allegedly assaulted and harassed during a local festival in Ozoro, Delta State.

Confirming the incident following the public outcry, the Delta State Police Command stated it had made several arrests.

Reacting to the development, Mr Jollof said he was ashamed to be associated with a state in which women are still being disrespected in 2026.

He further noted that the barbaric incident occurred during the same month that International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day are celebrated.

Speaking via his verified handle, he said: “I feel so ashamed as a Deltan in 2026 if such an attitude of disrespecting women still exists. This is even women’s month—we celebrate International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day, yet this is happening. It is barbaric.”

Mr Jollof called on the Delta State government to urgently address the situation and ensure justice is served.

“I am calling on the Delta State government to speak up and hold those responsible accountable.

“Children go to school in Ozoro; how can parents feel safe sending their daughters there if this is what is happening under the guise of a festival?” he added.
