Mouth watering clashes in UEFA Champions League quarter final ties

Real Madrid will face Man City in the quarterfinal of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League following the draw Friday afternoon in Nyon, Switzerland.

The tie headlines mouth watering clashes in the competition as Arsenal will play Bayern Munich, PSG will face Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund will take on Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid have only won one of their last six UEFA Champions League matches against Man City while they have conceded an average of 1.7 goals per game against them in the competition; their most against a side they’ve faced 5+ times.

The Los Blancos defeated the Cityzens on their way to winning the title in 2022 while the reverse was the case last season when Pep Guardiola’s side defeated the LaLiga giants last year for their first ever Champions League title win.

In fact, the winner of the last two Real Madrid versus Man City clashes in the Champions League knockout rounds have gone on to win the title.

Arsenal will fancy their chances of avenging their heavyiest defeats in the competition when they face a stuttering Bayern side that have defeated them 5-1 on three ocassions.

The Gunners are a different animal so far in the Champions League this season as they have conceded just five times, the few by any team left in the competition and have also kept the mot cleansheets (four). Mikel Arteta’s men are still haven’t conceded at the Emirates.

PSG will face Barcelona for the 14th and 15th time in European competition, making the Blaugrana the most frequent opponent PSG have faced on the continental stage.

The first legs will be played on 9/10 April, with the return fixtures on 16/17 April.

If Arsenal advance to the semi-finals, they will face either Real Madrid or Man City while the winner of the Dortmund Vs Atletico Madrid will face the winner of the PSG Vs Barcelona tie.
