Former AS Roma manager, Jose Mourinho has said this season’s English Premier League (EPL) will be won by either Man City or Liverpool, effectively ruling North London club, Arsenal out.

He also predicted that the UEFA Champions League (UCL) trophy will be lifted by Real Madrid or Man City.

This season’s Premier League has gone way past the half way mark with about  14 matches remaining, the Champions League on the other hand is currently in its last-16 stage.

Making his predictions on who will win the two titles on the FIVE podcast recently, Mourinho said: ‘’Premier League… City or Liverpool, so I’m not making a mistake. But I think City.”

He added, “Champions League… I would say City or Real Madrid.

“If somebody outside wins it that would be a great surprise for me.”

Meanwhile, the Portuguese tactician
has admitted he was “hurt” by his sacking at Roma.

Mourinho was dismissed last month following a poor run of results at the Serie A club after joining them in 2021 and leading them to the Europa Conference League title in 2022.

Speaking with Rio Ferdinand for Football.com, the former Chelsea coach revealed that while he was with Roma, he snubbed offers to take charge of his native Portugal and a Saudi Arabia side.

He said: “Being sacked by AS Roma is the one that has been hurting me more. I gave everything.

“In these three years, I refused to become Portugal’s new head coach with the best national team ever.

“I also had a big proposal from Saudi Arabia.”
