Morocco to host 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League

Morocco also hosted the 2022 edition of the tournament, when local club, ASFAR defeated South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in the final

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named Morocco as host of the 2024 edition of its Women’s Champions League finals.

This was disclosed via a statement on CAF’s official website, where it was also stated that the competition will run from November 9 to November 23.

The decision of the African football body means Morocco will once again host the competition, having hosted the 2022 edition of the tournament.

Nigerian champions, Edo Queens are among the eight teams vying to lift the trophy of the premium women’s club football tournament in Africa.

South Africa club, Mamelodi Sundowns are the current holders of the competition.

Winners of this year’s edition will get $400 000 in prize money, while the  runner-up will walk away with $250,000.

The CAF Women’s Champions League
an annual African women’s association football club competition was first launched onSeptember 12, 2020.

Since then, only two teams have lifted the trophy, Mamelodi Sundowns won the competition twice in 2021 and 2023, while Morocco’s ASFAR won the 2022 edition.
