Monarch begs Ondo govt to upgrade, equip community health centre in Okeagbe

The paramount ruler of Afa Okeagbe Akoko in Akoko North West Local government area of Ondo state, HRH Oba Mofolorunso Adegboyega Arasanyin, Okeladeokin Arole Agba 1, has appealed to the state government to equip and employ medical personnel for effective service delivery in the Rufus Giwa Memorial General Hospital constructed through community sons and daughters efforts.
Also, the first class monarch lamented that the Comprehensive Health Centre in the community was in state of rot.
Oba Arasanyin made the call during an unscheduled visit to the two health facilities in the community shortly after a woman from a neighbouring community gave birth to two bouncing babies.
“I am very happy with the equipment I saw at the Rufus Giwa Memorial General Hospital, though not enough, the health facility was initiated through the efforts, support and contribution of Okeagbe Akoko sons and daughters, but I am not tottaly happy with what I saw at the Comprehensive Health Centre.
“I am using this opportunity to call on both the State and Local governments to see the need to urgently intervene in the equipping and staffing of these facilities to operate optimally and maximally,” he said.
The royal father who is the Ajana Afa of Okeagbe said the people of the area and the neighbouring communities wanted to see and enjoy a General Hospital and Comprehensive Health Centre that will attend to the health needs of the area.
He, however, called on the sons and daughters of Okeagbe community to do more by pursuing programmes aimed at providing vital health services to the people of the town, especially the vulnerable and the aged who are mostly affected by health challenges and lack of funds to access the needed medical attention.
Oba Arasanyin also appreciated the performance of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for what he has done in Ondo State in the last nine months of his administration.
