Milo U-13 African Championship: Rufai sure of Team Nigeria

Ex-international, Peter Rufai, has assured that Team Nigeria will not disapoint at the forthcoming Nestle Milo Under-13 African Championship will not disappoint.

The championship, a biennial event among Nestle Milo countries in Africa, will hold in Lagos from May 29 to June 1, with the teams arriving on May 29 while first round of matches will hold on May 30, with the finals on May 31 and departure on June 1.

Rufai, in a chat with TheNiche, said with the determination of the players and the zeal to excel, the sky will be their limit at the championship.

 

“I have absolute confidence in the players and officials, and I want to state that they will live up to expectations during the championship,” he said.

Managing Director and Chief Executive, Nestle Nigeria Plc, Dharnesh Gordhon, restated his company’s commitment to sports development in the country.

 

“Let me assure that Nestle Milo remains committed to the development of sports in Nigeria, and we will continue to partner with relevant agencies and other stakeholders to improve the quality of the game, raise the profile of African football and instil on our youths lifelong skills and values,” he said.

 

Nigeria (host), Ghana, Kenya and South Africa will be participating in the championship, which is the third edition since inception.

 

South Africa hosted the first edition in 2010 when Team Nigeria won, and Ghana hosted and won the second edition in 2012.

 

Team Nigeria is expected to win this third edition billed for the Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos.
