Pundit and former Man City defender, Micah Richards has said he is unsure if his old club can win a treble this season because of their UEFA Champions League (UCL) semi-final clash against Real Madrid.

The former England international made his feelings known recently, while speaking on the YouTube channel Filthy Fellas.

According to Richards, he is worried for Man City because of their upcoming Champions League semi-final double header against La Liga champions, Real Madrid later this month.

Man City are currently on top of the  Premier League table with five games to play and are in pole position to beat Arsenal to the title and win the 5th league trophy in six seasons.

The Citizens have also reached the FA Cup final, where they will face Manchester United in June. They are also in the Champions League semi-final stage.

Speaking recently on the prospect of Man City winning a treble this season, Richards said: “I don’t think they are going to do the treble.

“I am worried about that game [against Real Madrid].

“I am worried. I am worried, man. I am worried. I have got to be honest – I am worried about them, I wrote off Real Madrid last season.”

He went on to say Real Madrid have seemingly mastered how to win the Champions League, he is, however, hopeful that City will take advantage of playing the second leg of the encounter at home.

“In the right moments, they know how to get it done. The only thing is now, the second leg is at the Etihad, it is not at the Bernabeu. That could be the difference,” he added.
