The inspiring song, which was produced by Chocolate City music label, is derived from the World Book Capital 2014 theme ‘Books: Windows to our World of Possibilities’. It is a hit with youths across the city of Port Harcourt, who have been lapping it up since it started enjoying airplay on radio stations in the Garden City.
The artistes also read to school children in the ‘Celebrities Read’ campaign aimed at using popular role models to inspire children to develop a reading culture.
A day before the hand-over, Nollywood artistes – Patience Ozokwor and Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) – and wife of the Rivers State governor, Judith Amaechi, also read to children.
Professor Wole Soyinka took the keynote address titled, ‘Republic of the Mind and the Thraldom of Fear’ at the ceremony that had former head of state, General Abdusalami Abubakar (rtd.) as chairman.
