Methodist Prelate, Uche, says God used gang leader to save him

Dr Samuel Uche, the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, has disclosed that he and his co abductees came out of captivity unharmed because God used the leader of the gang to save them. 

The clergyman who claimed he was shown decomposed bodies by the kidnappers while in their captivity, also said divine mercy from God kept him safe during his ordeal.

The Primate was kidnapped by gunmen while travelling along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State in the company of the Methodist Bishop of Owerri, Rt. Rev. Dennis Mark, and his (the Prelate’s) chaplain on May 29, 2022. 

Dr Uche made the latest disclosure before a congregation at Christ Methodist Cathedral, Nyanya, Abuja, on Friday. July 1, while speaking during a valedictory visit to the church.

According to the 70-year-old Prelate, he and his fellow abductees, survived unhurt because the gang leader kept stopping his men who made attempts to harm them. 

He went on to say they made it out alive through God’s intervention and compared his experience to that of Daniel in Lion’s den.

He said, “It was by the mercy of God that I was not harmed by the evil men,” 

Quoting the Bible the Prilate added,  “Though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, God will save His own.”

He concluded by urging Christians to trust in God because it was by his grace that he survived the abduction unmaimed he also asked  God to give Nigerians the ability to elect a good leader in the 2023 general elections.
