Reno Omokri, a former aide on social media to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has accused the Catholic Priest and Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, of using a wrong analogy of Prophet Samuel ordaining Saul as the King of Israel to justify his error of supporting President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 election.

Mbaka, a one time staunch supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari, recently asked him to resign or be impeached by the National Assembly for making Nigeria worse than he met it.

Mbaka also said that he knew some people would attack him for supporting Buhari in the first place. He then retorted. “Did Samuel not ordain Saul?”

But Omokri said it is a wrong analogy to make.

He explained via a tweet: “Those justifying Mbaka by saying Samuel also ordained Saul and then dethroned him don’t know Scripture. Samuel never called Saul a “saviour” as Mbaka called Buhari. In fact, BEFORE ordaining Saul, Samuel warned Israel against Saul 1 Samuel 8: 10-22. Read Scripture!”
