Prior to the commencement of the World Cup in Qatar, Mbappe made a comparison between the level of football in Europe and South America.
According to the PSG striker, European teams always have an edge because the players play at a high-level in matches such as the Nations League, he also insisted that the level of football in South America is ‘not as advanced as Europe’.
Reacting to Mbappe’s comment, Martinez said the 23-year-old should shut up if he does not know what he is talking about.
He said, “He doesn’t know enough about football.
“He never played in South America. When you don’t have this experience, it may be better not to talk about it.
“But it doesn’t matter. We are a great team, recognised as such.”
