Arsenal forward, Gabriel Martinelli, has praised Chelsea winger and Brazilian international teammate, Estevao, ahead of Sunday evening’s London derby, saying the young player deserves all the success he is currently enjoying.

Martinelli shared his view on his compatriot recently during an interview with the Evening Standard.

Estevao joined Chelsea from Palmeiras in the summer transfer window and has netted nine goals in his last 13 games in all competitions for the Blues.

While speaking about the 18-year-old, Martinelli claimed that he deserves everything that is happening to him in his career.

He added that Estevao is a handful for any team on his day, expressing a hope that the winger would have an off day against Arsenal.

Martinelli said: “Estevao is a nice boy, his family are as well, everyone’s so humble. They deserve everything that they are doing here.”

He continued: “The boy is so good as well, everyone in the national team loves him as well. He deserves everything that he is doing – and I just hope he is not on his day on Sunday. So we knew before he came how good he is and it’s not a surprise for us because we knew him from Brazil. He deserves everything, so yeah, fair play to him.”

Arsenal, who are currently on top of the Premier League table, are six points ahead of Chelsea, who are in the third position.

With a win in the London derby, the Gunners could extend their lead over the Blues to nine points. Chelsea will, however, move within three points of the league leaders if they emerge as the winner of the encounter.
