A middle-aged man, Mr. Stephen Nnadiogo, on Saturday, February 25, 2018, killed his four children: two boys and two girls and his sister in-law over alleged infidelity by his wife.
Nnadiogo who lived at No. 21b Ntueke street, Awada Obosi, Idemili
North Local Government Area, Anambra State, was said to be high on drugs, sometimes.
He was from Isu Njiaba in Oru East council of Imo State.
He reportedly went berserk, killing his four children, sister-in-law and took own life.
It was gathered that his wife had always boasted each time they quarreled that he was not the biological father of his children and that she had them from extra marital affairs because he was impotent and could not impregnate her.
In such situations the man in response would call her a prostitute and sexy woman who could not be satisfied with one man.
At the weekend, as the wife left their house for her medicine store to attend to patients in the evening, he called the four chilfren behind, and then looked at the children closely and recalled what his wife told him and resolved to take their lives so that she would leave
their matrimonial home and go to the biological father of the children.
As the thought rushed into him he ran amock and began stabbing all of them including his sister in-law with a knife and they all died instantly.
Satisfied that they were dead, he hid himself in one of the apartments in the flat of a four-storey building where they lived and took his own life by reportedly drinking poisonous substance.
It was their house-help who was sent to an errand by the man before committing the mass murder who returned and
on opening the door, saw everybody in the pool of their own blood, and ran to tell her madam at the medicine store that her
kids were all dead.
She was said to have ran away in fear believing that her husband would come there to also kill her.
While confirming the incident, the Awada Divisional Police Officer, (DPO), Mr. Martin Mbajunwa, said that investigation was ongoing, stating that the corpses of the bereaved had been deposited in the morque.
