Manchester City won the 2022/2023 UEFA Champions League (UCL) trophy after edging past Inter Milan in a final played at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey on Saturday night.
They became the second English team to ever win the Treble of Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in the same season after local rivals, Man United won it in 1999.
Pep Guardiola’s side were never at their best against a brilliantly organised Inter and had to cope with the loss of Kevin De Bruyne to injury in the first half.
Both teams created very few opportunities in the first half as the defence of the two clubs came on top.

Man City, however, scored the only goal of the final in the 68th minute when Rodri’s shot inside the box beat Inter’s Andre Onana.
The English champions after the lead had to survive a few scares when Federico Dimarco’s header bounced off the bar and Ederson made a stunning late save to deny Romelu Lukaku, but they held on for a narrow
1-0 win.
The win seals Guardiola’s status as one of the managerial greats as he added a third Champions League to the two he won at Barcelona, the last coming in 2011.
