Man City leapfrog PSG after they were held by Leipzig

PSG dropped to second position in Group A after they were held by RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena in Germany 

Man City go top after putting four past Brugge, John Stones scores own goal

Paris St Germain (PSG) dropped to the second position after they were held by RB Leipzig, paving the way for Manchester City to go top with a 4-1 win over Brugge at the Etihad Stadium.

Leipzig got the first goal of the game in the 8th minute, after Christopher Nkunku scored from a pass from Andre Silva. 

The home side got another opportunity in the 12th minute to extend their lead against PSG after Danilo Pereira conceded a penalty for pulling Andre Silva’s shirt in the box.

Andre Silva stepped forward to take the resultant penalty, which was well saved by PSG goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma. 

PSG got a deserved equalizer in the 21st minute, when Georginio Wijnaldum scored from an assist from Kylian Mbappe to make it 1-1.

The visitors doubled their tally, in the 39th minute after Georginio Wijnaldum got his brace from Marquinhos’s assist to go 2-1 up. 

Leipzig equalized deep into extra time against PSG when Dominik Szoboszlai scored a penalty in the 92nd minute to end the game 2-2.

In the other game in Group A, goals from Phil Folden, Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus in the 15th, 54th, 72nd and 92nd minutes respectively gave City a comprehensive 4-1 win.  

John Stones, however, put the ball into his own net in the 17th minute of the game to give Brugge a consolation goal on a very chastising night.
