Man caught stealing motorcycle in Osun, says he was replacing his own stolen Okada
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, has arrested a 24-year-old man, Sola Jimoh, for stealing a motorcycle.
The Command’s spokesperson, ASC Kehinde Adeleke, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, December 27, 2024, revealed that the suspect confessed to leaving his hometown near Osogbo on Christmas morning at 6 a.m. with the intention of stealing a motorcycle.
According to the statement, Jimoh admitted that upon arriving in Osogbo, he spotted a motorcycle parked under a tree at Powerline with no one nearby.
He quickly took the motorcycle, but the owner discovered the theft and promptly reported it to the nearest NSCDC office.
Jimoh was apprehended while attempting to escape with the stolen motorcycle.
The Commandant of the Osun NSCDC, Igbalawole Sotiyo, stated that Jimoh claimed his own motorcycle had been stolen in September 2024, which drove him to seek revenge by stealing another one.
Sotiyo assured the public that Jimoh would be charged in a court of competent jurisdiction, where the law would determine his fate.
He also urged citizens to provide actionable intelligence to the nearest security agency to help prevent crime and criminal activities.
