It is a harvest of suspensions at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as at least 12 directors and top management of the anti-graft Commission were suspended on Tuesday with immediate effect.
The embattled former acting chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Magu, who was arrested last week and has been in detention ever since while undergoing intense investigation was also suspended last week and a new acting chairman, Mohammed Umar, appointed in his stead.
A report in The Nation said the notice of suspension was communicated to Umar on Tuesday night by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.
The action is said to be in connection with the ongoing investigation of Magu.
