Madojiemu’s U-15 athletics meet promises more lollies for school kids

Princess Mabel Madojiemu foundation wants to encourage talented Youth to horn their talents properly by ensuring that emerging talents represent Nigeria at future Competitions.

Organisers of the second edition of Princess Mabel Madojiemu U-15 Athletics Competitions announce that every school kid taking part in the 2-day meet would go home with prices.

The co-ordinator of the athletics tourney which holds in Benin on September 29-30th Mutiu Oluwa, said that after registration, each participating school-kid gets three big note exercise books and one T-shirt.

He also added that aside other incentives, Schools in and around Edo State will benefit from cash bonuses and official cash prices for first, second and third place winners in all events.


“Princess Mabel Madojiemu foundation wants to encourage talented Youth to horn their talents properly by ensuring that emerging talents represent Nigeria at future Competitions,” Oluwa said.


Oluwa insisted that in as much as the Princess Mabel Madojiemu foundation wants to catch them young early from schools, no attempt would be made to compromise age limit of the competition.


“Screening would be thorough and transparent. We want talents within U-15 age limit. The participating schools principals would sign to authenticate the age of their JSS students. Where doubts occur, their parents would also be invited to attest to actual age of their teens,” he said.

Princess Mabel Madojiemu expressed gratitude to colleagues, friends and companies that had so far identified with her on this project as she pleads for more incentives for participating schools.


She also expressed gratitude to The Executive Chairman of Edo State sports commission, Yusuf Alli for making the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium available for use by organisers aside other tangible incentives.


The competition will draw Schools from many local government area in Benin and outside Edo State.


The second edition promises to be big and better as over 50 schools and estimated 600 school kids would be participating in the Talent hunt Competition.
