Macron pledges support for Nigeria’s terror fight

French President, Emmanuel Macron, has expressed solidarity with Nigeria in the face of the worsening security situation in the country.

​He made this known in a post he shared on Sunday, disclosing that he spoke with President Bola Tinubu on the persistent terrorist attacks, especially in the north of the country.

​He pledged that France will deepen its cooperation with Nigerian authorities and enhance support for communities impacted by violence.

​He further underscored the urgent need for collective action to address the crisis, insisting no one can remain a bystander.

​The French President went on to stress that global partners must step up their engagement.

​Speaking via his verified handle, Macron said, “I spoke with President Tinubu of Nigeria. I conveyed France’s solidarity in the face of the various security challenges, particularly the terrorist threat in the North.

​“At his request, we will strengthen our partnership with the authorities and our support for the affected populations. We call on all our partners to step up their engagement. No one can remain a spectator.”
