By Ishaya Ibrahim

In the face of government failure to plan on how poor citizens would survive as Nigeria shuts down, senior pastor of the Day Star Church, Sam Adeyemi, has asked rich churches to intervene.

Many states have out rightly banned movements for 7 to 14 days to curtail the spread of the infection without putting into consideration, how majority of the poor would feed during the period.

On his twitter handle, Adeyemi asks churches to help cushion the impact of the lockdown by providing food to the poor.

“Dear pastor, please encourage members that have means to provide food for families in their neighbourhoods that run out of food through the lockdown. If your church has extra funds, please buy some for distribution. Thank you”, he said.
