The intensity of their press and crisp use of the ball overwhelmed Palace but they eventually responded in the 55th minute when Odsonne Edouard tapped into an empty net after receiving a pass from Jean-Philippe Mateta.

But Fabinho dispatched a penalty in the 89th minute to restore the visitors 2 goal cushion after Diogo Jota was judged to have been brought down in the penalty box by referee Kevin Friend
The referee had initially waved away the penalty appeal but was awarded the spot-kick after VAR suggested he should revise his initial decision.
The victory for Klopp’s side reduced the gap between them and Man City from 11 points to 9 and they could go within 6 points of the leaders if they win their outstanding game.
