Gvardiol is being targetted by Man City, following the departure of some of their top stars this summer

Liverpool might have inadvertently made the pursuit of RB Leipzig defender, Josko Gvardiol, by Premier League rivals, Manchester City, more problematic and complicated.
This is because RB Leipzig director, Max Eberi has revealed that their £60 million sale of Dominik Szoboszlai to Liverpool means the Bundesliga club is no longer urgently in need of money.
Hence, the German side does not have to sell highly-rated defender, Gvardiol, who despite clear interest from the Citizens is now expected to remain at the club.

The development is not likely to sit well with the British champions, who have been pushing to sign the defender following the departure of some of their top stars this summer.
Speaking to Sky Germany recently, Eberi said. “The fact is Man City would like to have him.
“Currently we are still very far apart.
“The transfer of Dominik Szoboszlai has secured us financially. We don’t need the money.
“We would prefer Josko to stay.”
