Liverpool defeated Atletico Madrid to remain top of their UEFA Champions League (UCL) group.
The English side, Liverpool, were the quickest to come out of the block, as Egyptian, Mohamed Salah, scored from a pass from Andrew Robertson in the 8th minute.
Naby Keita volleyed the ball into the back of the net to double Liverpool’s advantage five minutes later.
However, Antoine Griezmann pulled one back for Atletico Madrid in the 20th minute, the Spanish side completed the comeback in the 32nd minute when Griezmann scored a brace.
Neither side could add to their tallies before the referee, Daniel Siebert, blew to signal the end of the first half.
Griezmann turned from hero to villain, when he was given the machining order on the 52nd minute for bringing down Liverpool forward, Roberto Firmino.
The away side capitalized on their numerical advantage and retook the lead once again, when Salah converted a penalty conceded by Mario Hermoso, for pushing Diogo Jota in the penalty box to make it 3-2.
In a related development, Man City trashed Club Brugge 5-1 at home, Mahrez scored a brace, while Jaoh Cancello, Kyle Walker and Cole Palmer all scored a goal each, to mark a resounding success against the Belgian side.
In the remaining matches, PSG beat RB Leipzig 3-2 at home, FC Porto won AC Milan by a lone goal, Besiktas lost 4-1 to Sporting Lisbon at home, while Ajax walloped B Dortmund 4-0.
Italian champion, Inter Milan, won 3-1 against Sheriff Tiraspol at home while Shakhtar Donetsk were spanked 5-0 at home by Real Madrid.
