Osifo got her big break in 2015 when she got a role in ‘Desperate Housewives Africa’ a series produced by Mo Abudu

Nollywood actress and television host, Linda Osifo has opened up on how her Canadian accent stopped her from getting movie roles when she first relocated to Nigeria.
The actress disclosed this during an interview with BBC Pidgin, where she shared her long journey to stardom in the movie industry.
According to the Bini-born actress, she initially struggled to get roles in Nollywood, when she relocated to Nigeria from Canada at the age of 22 in 2013.
Almost in tears, Osifo recalled how she got disappointed severally for her inability to speak the Nigerian accent fluently.
She said: “They rejected me several times, many producers didn’t have an idea of who I was. I went for auditions severally and I was never called back.”

The 30-year-old actress added that despite the rejections she did not stop auditioning for movie roles. She said she eventually got her big break in 2015.
She added that the role earned her recognition as the Best Actress in the Television Series category of the Exquisite Ladies of the Year Award.
“I got my break in 2015 when I was given a role in Mo Abudu’s project, ‘Desperate Housewives’, where I got nominated as the Best Actress and won the award.
“It was that break that got me to where I am today in the movie industry. When I look back at 2015 and where I am now, I always thank God.”
Osifo was the first runner-up of Miss Nigeria Entertainment Canada 2011 and 2nd runner up Miss AfriCanada 2011 beauty pageants.
She has now starred in a good number of notable projects including the recent Kunle Afolayan Netflix Christmas original ‘A Naija Christmas’.
Osifo and BBNaija star, Erica Nlewedim also played roles in ‘Devil in Agbada’ a movie co-produced by Nollywood veteran actress, Uche Jombo.
