Liberia President, Joseph Boakai, among leaders confirming attendance at Africa Economic Summit 2024 in Abuja

Political leaders including the President of Liberia, Joseph Boakai, have confirmed their attendance at the forthcoming Africa Economic Summit 2024.
The summit, scheduled for June 3-4, 2024, at the Continental Hotel in Abuja will convene under the theme “Africa: Riding the Crest of Global Economic and Political Volatility.”
The chosen theme reflects the continent’s resilience in the face of global economic and political challenges, highlighting Africa’s determination to navigate turbulent waters and emerge stronger and more prosperous. Against the vibrant backdrop of Abuja, the summit promises to be a catalyst for dynamic discussions, innovative solutions, and impactful collaborations.
Founder of Africa Economic Summit, Brian Reuben, expressed his excitement for the upcoming event, stating, “The Africa Economic Summit serves as a testament to Africa’s resilience and potential in the face of global volatility. As we gather in Abuja, Nigeria, we have a unique opportunity to harness Africa’s strengths and chart a course towards sustainable economic growth and development.”
President of Africa Economic Summit 2024, Sam Ohuabunwa, emphasised the importance of collective action in addressing Africa’s economic challenges. “Africa is at a critical juncture, and it is imperative that we come together to navigate the complexities of global economic and political volatility,” he stated. “Through collaboration and innovation, we can unlock Africa’s vast potential and pave the way for a brighter future for all.”

Joining President Boakai and other distinguished leaders are the Speaker of the National Assembly from Gambia, Fabakary Jatta; Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives from Nigeria, Benjamin Kalu; Director-General of Kenya School of Government, Prof. Ludeki Chweya; and former Secretary to the Government of Nigeria, Boss Mustapha. Their participation underscores the summit’s commitment to fostering inclusive dialogue and exploring holistic solutions to Africa’s economic challenges.
Additionally, the summit will feature prominent figures including Yoofi Grant, CEO of Ghana Investment Promotion Centre; Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment, Sheikh Al Moustapha Kouyateh, Ambassador-At-Large, Republic of Liberia; Simple Banda, Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs from Malawi; and Jumoke Oduwole, Executive Secretary of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council from Nigeria.
Others include Muruli Mukasa, Minister of Public Service, Uganda and Uche Nnaji, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Nigeria Together with other distinguished speakers, they will engage in thought-provoking discussions, share invaluable insights, and explore innovative approaches to propel Africa towards sustainable economic growth and prosperity. Several other confirmations are expected including from the President of Nigeria and the Gambia in the next few days ahead of the Summit.
